The Chairs of the All Party Writers Group and All Party Publishers Group have written a joint Letter to Rt Hon Oliver Dowden CBE MP, Secretary of State for Digital, Culture, Media and Sport to outline the ways in which the book sector has reacted to the Covid-19 crisis, and to emphasise the important role that copyright has played in this response.

Creators organisations write to Government calling for a UK Creators Council
A joint letter from ALCS, BECS, DACS, Directors UK, Equity, the Musicians’ Union, The Royal Society of Literature, the Society of Authors and the Writers’ Guild of Great Britain has been sent to Rt Hon Oliver Dowden MP calling for a Creators Council to be established. In the Report of the Writers Group Inquiry into Authors’ Earnings a call was made for the Government to establish such a council.
