The Inaugural APWG meeting of this new parliament. This is a vitally important event in which we will be nominating and electing the groups’ officers, formulating our key campaigning areas and approving our financial statements/support for the year ahead.
This will take place at:
Room C, 1 Parliament Street, 2:30pm, Tuesday 15th October 2024
The APWG’s IGM will be a short (max 15.mins) standalone formal meeting to vote for the new officers and to meet the re-registering criteria.
We will only need you for five minutes, but it would be invaluable to the group and for writers inside and outside Parliament, to have you there. So that the brief meeting formalities can be completed swiftly and successfully – we would ask you to arrive promptly at 2:30pm so we have quorum as soon as possible and can work through the IGM business. With this in mind, please do bring along a colleague or member of the APWG so we can easily satisfy the meeting quorum conditions.
Nomination forms, financial statements, annual campaign reports and any other papers will be circulated with members prior to the meeting; minutes, financial statements and reports will be published on the APWG website following the meeting.
We will send details of the next formal meeting which will involve a speaker and discussion on the future of Journalism following the successful re-registration of the group.
We are really excited to begin afresh the work of the APWG, with a programme of campaigns to support writers of all kinds. However, with the change in the APPG rules, its vital we continue to keep the group alive, so please if you have time on the day, do attend to show your support for the group and writers we represent. We hope to see as many of you as possible on the day.
